Blue Tilapia (Oreochromis Aureus) grow rapidly, are one of the most cold hardy species and are therefore most commonly selected for cooler climates. They can tolerate short periods of cold water temperatures as low as 10 degrees C or 45 degrees F as adults. They are disease resistant, very hardy, tolerant to overcrowding conditions, and an excellent breeder. Although a food fish, the iridescent blue colouring looks attractive in an aquarium. Blue Tilapia are commonly found in the fillet market and provide beautiful tasty fillets. Our Blue fingerlings are mixed sex and you will receive approximately a 50/50 mix of males and females.
