MOVING TIPS
Use sturdy containers (with lids).
Identify contents clearly.
Records / CDs should be packed on edge.
Towels / pillows may be packed in dresser drawers.
Books are to be packed in small cartons.
Cartons should weigh less than 60 lbs.
Pack lampshades by themselves.
Toasters, waffle irons and small radios should be wrapped and packed at the bottom of a carton.
Pack tie brooms, mops and curtain rods in bundles.
Table lamps should be packed in cartons, as should floor lamp bowls and bulbs.
When packing china, place heavy items on bottom. All flat pieces should be placed on edge.

HELPFUL REMINDERS
Notify the post office.
Notify utility companies.
Arrange stove, fridge, washer, dryer & dishwasher to be prepared or serviced before moving.
Notify the Bureau of Vehicle registration of your change of address.
Notify your doctor and dentist.
Notify your children’s school.
Pick up your dry cleaning.
Notify your magazine / newspaper publisher.
Arrange bank account transfer.
Take a telephone book with you. It will come in handy for checking addresses, etc.

Keep tea/coffee,mugs,kettle,paper plates,toaster,bread,milk,quick snacks
Towels,toothpaste,shampoo,toothbrush,toilet paper
pet food for the animals

GENERAL INFORMATION
We suggest that large mirrors, glass tabletops and valued paintings be crated by the mover.
Do not leave trays, etc., loose in your fridge/stove.
Pack small clocks and be sure to prepare Grandfather clocks for moving.
Dismantling of beds and setting up.
It is not necessary to empty dresser drawers, but remove all fragile and heavy items and all liquids.
Leave furniture where it is in your home. 0ur trained crews can load your effects faster end easier this way.
Advise the van driver(s) where you may be at destination.
Any articles needed first should be loaded last.
On moving day check all closets, attic, basement and garage to make sure all wanted items are taken.
Defrost and clean your fridge the day before moving.
Dispose of hazardous materials. Movers will not accept them.
Dispose of oily mops / rags.
Any fixtures fastened to the wall, drapery track, etc. should be taken down for the movers.
