Thappad (2020)

Taapsee Pannu gives a quiet refusal enough weight to unsettle an entire domestic arrangement. The woman has to recognise the cost of a role she has become very good at performing. The film is strongest where other people's reasonable-sounding advice makes that recognition harder.
