He is the chairman and a controlling shareholder in Chanel, with his brother GĂ©rard who chairs its watch division. As of October 2022, Wertheimer's net worth was estimated at US$40 billion by Bloomberg Billionaires Index, making him the 26th richest person in the world. According to Forbes, Wertheimer is the 38th richest individual in the world. As of 25 December 2024, his estimated net worth is US$41.4 billion.
