Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (2010)
Movie
Released
The comic-book graphics and musical interruptions arrive too fast to absorb everything at once. A repeat viewing gives you room to catch the background text, visual transitions and supporting reactions around Scott's self-absorbed narration of his own life. It becomes more interesting when his blinkered perspective is part of the joke, rather than a viewpoint the audience has to endorse.

About Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
As bass guitarist for a garage-rock band, Scott Pilgrim has never had trouble getting a girlfriend; usually, the problem is getting rid of them. But when Ramona Flowers skates into his heart, he finds she has the most troublesome baggage of all: an army of ex-boyfriends who will stop at nothing to eliminate him from her list of suitors.
