The repeated walk to the shop is the obvious invitation to look twice: familiar streets become funny because Shaun is watching them much less carefully than we are. Elsewhere, throwaway plans and everyday expressions acquire later meanings. The pleasure is seeing how tightly a scruffy pub-and-flat comedy has been assembled, without losing the warmth between its hopeless friends.

About Shaun of the Dead
Shaun lives a supremely uneventful life, which revolves around his girlfriend, his mother, and, above all, his local pub. This gentle routine is threatened when the dead return to life and make strenuous attempts to snack on ordinary Londoners.
