English Vinglish (2012)

Sridevi makes a woman's embarrassment over her English both funny and quietly painful. The language-class scenes provide an easy point of recognition for anyone who has felt judged while learning. It is a particularly welcoming gateway because self-respect, family habits and small changes in confidence carry the drama.
