Dickinson (2019)

Emily's desire for Sue shares the frame with poems, family irritations, ambition and wonderfully irreverent fantasy. The modern language and music make the historical setting deliberately playful. It does not erase the constraints around its women, but it gives their imaginative and emotional lives more space than a solemn portrait of repression would.
