Better Things (2016)

Sam's three daughters need different versions of her, often while her own work and mother demand attention. Pamela Adlon lets a loving parent be fed up, impulsive and interested in something beyond family service. The looser episodes suit evenings when recognition matters more than a tightly wound plot, with children who have opinions of their own.
