When They See Us (2019)

Ava DuVernay's four-part dramatisation follows the boys wrongly accused in the Central Park case and the lives altered by that accusation. Its compressed form does not make the emotional experience small. Choose it when you want a concentrated, deeply upsetting examination of institutional power and stolen time, with space afterwards for discussion and further reading.
