Dead to Me (2019)

Two women form a friendship around grief while secrets keep changing what that bond means. The reveals provide a reason to continue, but Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini make the everyday exchanges worth watching in themselves. Its comic energy coexists with bereavement and illness. Best when both viewers can enjoy emotional mess without demanding admirable behaviour.
