Sholay (1975)
Movie
Released
The hired-gun plot holds together an unusually assured mixture of friendship, comedy, music and western-style action. Its scale comes from memorable relationships as much as the bandit threat. Comic warmth and sustained cruelty belong to the same film, making the emotional contrasts unusually forceful.
