The Lunchbox (2013)
Movie
Released
An accidentally delivered lunch leads to exchanged notes, and those notes make ordinary loneliness absorbing. The two correspondents reveal themselves through meals, working routines and small admissions rather than sparkling first-date patter. Irrfan Khan's guarded stillness is especially rewarding if you prefer affection that has to find a way through habit. It is a patient, bittersweet connection with an uncertain horizon, not a neat fantasy in which another person instantly repairs a life.

About The Lunchbox
A mistaken delivery in Mumbai's famously efficient lunchbox delivery system (Mumbai's Dabbawallahs) connects a young housewife to a stranger in the dusk of his life. They build a fantasy world together through notes in the lunchbox. Gradually, this fantasy threatens to overwhelm their reality.
