Angel (1999)

A Los Angeles detective agency lets damaged people turn helping strangers into a reason to stay together. The support roles matter as much as the vampire lead's strength. It is the gloomier Buffy spin-off, with loyalty repeatedly tested by grief and terrible decisions rather than a permanently reassuring office family.
