Six Feet Under (2001)

The Fisher family's funeral business has been asking what a life contains from the beginning. The ending finds a form that belongs to that question and draws force from long familiarity with flawed, irritating people. Some middle seasons are uneven. The final emotional reach makes sense because the series has allowed those lives to accumulate rather than remain tidy examples.
