Grand Designs (1999)

The famous ambition is useful when you watch what the completed building asks its occupants to do. Light, setting and circulation can be illuminating even in projects whose budgets are far removed from ordinary life. It is inspiration rather than a cost guide. The best episodes also expose the gap between a strong concept and the practical work of living with it.
