The Kingdom (1994)

A Danish hospital's professional routines are invaded by sounds and events its staff cannot comfortably explain. Bureaucratic comedy makes the supernatural interruptions stranger rather than less threatening. The grainy older style is a purposeful part of the experience, with later continuation expanding an already eccentric institutional nightmare.
