Restoring videotapes makes damaged sound and half-seen footage into an invitation the archivist cannot resist. The building on the recordings acquires an increasingly disturbing presence. It is ideal for the pleasure of piecing together an uncanny archive, though cancellation leaves the larger mystery unfinished.
