Angel (1999)

A vampire with a soul turns survival into repeated attempts to make amends, without expecting the debt to disappear. The detective-agency setting makes that work practical and imperfect. Choose it for immortality treated as a problem of continuing moral effort, with a darker outlook than its parent series Buffy.
