The Vampire Diaries (2009)

Immortal brothers bring old attachments into a teenage social world that keeps producing new reasons for jealousy and sacrifice. It is an enthusiastic supernatural soap with a gift for momentum. Compulsion and unequal power make the romances troubling as well as seductive, which is part of the argument rather than a reason to excuse the behaviour.
