Castlevania (2017)

Dracula's grief turns personal loss into an assault on the living, while other long-lived characters pursue very different uses for power. The animation gives gothic excess a forceful visual language. It is extremely violent, but its interest in solitude and the persistence of attachment makes the immortal figures more than impressive adversaries.
