Getting On (2009)

Choose the 2009 UK original with Jo Brand, Joanna Scanlan and Vicki Pepperdine. A hospital ward makes the distance between managerial language and practical care painfully funny. Its deadpan patience can look slight until you notice who is doing the work and who is protecting their position. Illness and death remain present beneath the institutional absurdity.
