Desmond's (1989)

The Peckham barber shop is a workplace, a meeting point and an arena for several generations to disagree. Trix Worrell's sitcom gives the regulars enough comic individuality to make the older studio rhythms inviting. This is the historical touchstone worth trying for its lived community and family warmth, rather than treating its place in television history as the entire recommendation.
