Timewasters (2017)

A South London jazz quartet finds itself in earlier versions of the city, taking musical confidence and very modern grievances along. Daniel Lawrence Taylor's comedy lets Black characters have the fun of a time-travel premise as well as confront its awkwardness. The band chemistry is the attraction, with period expectations becoming material for jokes rather than solemn homework.
