Count Abdulla (2023)

Abdulla's mother expects religious observance while his friends offer a different kind of social pressure; becoming a vampire makes an already awkward balancing act much stranger. The horror-comedy premise gives the mother-and-grown-son relationship a deliberately ridiculous new problem. This is an adult genre detour, with provocative jokes and a narrow focus on one man's identity crisis rather than a sprawling family chronicle.
