Ackley Bridge (2017)

The school setting brings pupils' ambitions into contact with parents carrying their own disappointments, loyalties and expectations. Its mixed Yorkshire community gives family disagreements a social setting beyond the living room. British Asian households are part of a wider ensemble here, making this a good choice if you want the generations to meet through education, work and neighbourhood life as well as romance.
