Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! (1994)

The family celebrations are the structure, not incidental decoration around a plot. Songs and the ensemble's ease make its idealised domestic world emotionally comprehensible. The film is worth revisiting as a confident social fantasy, with the expectations inside that fantasy open to scrutiny.
