Satya (1998)

Manoj Bajpayee's Bhiku Mhatre makes the gangster world sociable and frightening within the same scene. The ensemble and Mumbai soundscape give the crime story a larger life. Its force after the 1990s lies in that uneasy human texture, rather than the attraction of violent swagger alone.
