Valerie and Her Week of Wonders (1970)

A young woman's changing perception turns a village into a shifting arrangement of fairy-tale and gothic images. The Czech film asks for associative attention rather than a neatly explained mythology. Its cult reputation rewards adventurous viewers looking beyond conventional coming-of-age fantasy.
