BoJack Horseman (2014)

A washed-up sitcom star's attempts to escape himself become increasingly unsparing about addiction, harm and the limits of an apology. Visual jokes keep working around serious scenes. The first episodes undersell what follows, and the later emotional severity makes this rewarding but demanding rather than reassuring company.
