This Country (2017)

Kerry and Kurtan turn a minor rural opportunity or grievance into a complete account of who respects them. The documentary frame lets a small inconsistency sit in full view while somebody explains it away. There is sharp embarrassment, but also recognisable boredom and loyalty. The humour feels most specific when their own idea of being an important local person meets ordinary village life.
