Crash (2005)
Movie
Released
Best Picture, 2006 ceremony.
The coincidences in this Los Angeles ensemble can begin to look like a timetable for moral reversals. Matt Dillon and Thandiwe Newton give individual encounters force, especially the rescue, but recognising the machinery leaves less room to wonder about the people caught in it. Its first impact is easy to understand; a return makes the arrangement harder to ignore.
