Smiley (2022)

A misdirected message brings Álex and Bruno together in Barcelona, but their assumptions about each other's lives keep interfering with the possibility. The Spanish and Catalan series uses recognisable romantic-comedy machinery while giving its surrounding queer relationships different needs. A brighter, more openly romantic option here, with room for the habits people mistake for certainty about what they want.
