Rain Dogs (2023)

Costello's talent and fierce attachment to her daughter do not supply rent or a safe place to sleep. Accepting help can create a different kind of dependence. The friendship with Selby keeps money and power uncomfortably connected. Choose it for dark, unsentimental comic drama about the price of apparent rescue, rather than a tidy story of working hard and escaping.
