Ballykissangel (1996)

Ballykissangel's church and pub keep spiritual obligations close to money, gossip and the next practical favour. The Irish village offers generous company without giving its residents a single shared idea of what is right. Its older, sometimes sentimental style suits a viewer who enjoys watching familiar local faces slowly complicate a newcomer's assumptions.
