Northern Exposure (1990)

Cicely's residents have long memories and competing ideas about how to live. The New York doctor who arrives there has no automatic authority over that social world. This 1990s Alaskan ensemble can be dreamlike and eccentric, with the pleasure coming from neighbours whose convictions extend beyond the immediate problem. It is particularly rewarding if you enjoy a community arguing with its own idea of itself.
