Serial Experiments Lain (1998)

A quiet girl's relationship with a network begins to unsettle identity, memory and the apparent boundary of a physical room. Empty spaces and intrusive sounds make connection feel uncanny. This is a compact, demanding experiment rather than a clearly signposted adventure, with suicide and psychological distress central to the experience.
