Speechless (2016)

JJ's communication needs and wheelchair access are woven into school, friendship and a family's constant negotiation with institutions. He also gets taste, ambition, comic timing and the capacity to be difficult. The family sitcom can be broad, but it lets him want things beyond an approved educational message. Choose it for the friction between advocacy and being allowed an ordinary teenage life.
