Alfred Molina

As Rahad Jackson in Boogie Nights (1997), Molina makes apparent hospitality feel hazardous. His cheerful absorption in the music keeps colliding with the visitors' anxiety, so even a casual movement becomes something to watch. It is an unusually vivid demonstration of how a supporting actor can control tension without adopting a permanently threatening expression.
