Judi Dench

Elizabeth I needs little introduction in Shakespeare in Love (1998), and Dench uses that advantage economically. Her stillness makes everyone else's bustle look suddenly revealing; a dry line can rearrange the room. The pleasure is in watching authority created through attention and timing, rather than a long speech about power.
