Lost in Translation (2003)

Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson make hesitation carry the relationship, giving Sofia Coppola's film an unusually precise emotional atmosphere. The city is filtered through the visitors' alienation rather than offered as a rounded portrait of Japanese life.
