House of the Dragon (2022)

The dynastic dispute has strong performances and a clear interest in how inheritance turns family into politics. The accumulation of titles, rival claims and calculated marriages asks me to care about a contest whose participants rarely offer much relief. Large-scale fantasy is not the obstacle by itself. I want a more varied emotional relationship with the people seeking power.
