Dan Carney

Dan brought his younger brother Frank into the first Pizza Hut venture in Wichita in 1958. Their mother's $600 loan, a sister's introduction to someone who knew pizza-making, and supplies from the family market all mattered. Dan later asked an architect friend to develop the restaurant's recognisable design. This is a particularly good biography for seeing the local relationships hidden inside a simple story about entrepreneurial grit.
