Walt Disney

Walt supplied the creative direction in the studio he founded with his brother Roy in 1923. The early Alice Comedies contract helped turn that ambition into a business with a buyer, rather than just an idea. His story is most revealing alongside Roy's: memorable characters and ambitious productions still depended on distribution, financing and the work of many other artists.
