Marianne (2019)

A horror writer returns to her Breton hometown as the figure from her books acquires a frightening life outside them. The coastal community makes returning home feel deeply unsafe. This French series is the emphatic horror choice here, with disturbing images and a cruel sense of humour; save it for an evening when being unsettled is the attraction.
