Getting On (2009)

The 2009 British original stays with an elderly-care ward where paperwork, staffing and the indignities of bodily care cannot be solved by a brilliant speech. Jo Brand, Vicki Pepperdine and Joanna Scanlan make professional status absurd without treating the patients' needs as negligible. Its dark comedy is an especially sharp choice when you want nursing work to remain visible after the consultant has left the room.
