A Spy Among Friends (2022)

The friendship between Nicholas Elliott and Kim Philby becomes an investigation into what a well-connected colleague can persuade himself not to see. Guy Pearce and Damian Lewis give polite exchanges several possible intentions. The 2022 series moves between times and uses invented dramatic elements, so it is not a documentary transcript. Choose it for betrayal sustained by affection, class and institutional confidence.
