Some Like It Hot (1959)

Billy Wilder lets disguise, desire and survival collide after two musicians witness a crime. Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon keep different comic and romantic plots moving at once. The gender jokes reflect their era, but the film's willingness to let attraction disrupt certainty gives its farce an enduring liberating streak.
