Something New (2006)

Sanaa Lathan makes a successful accountant's carefully specified idea of a partner feel both understandable and limiting. Sanaa Hamri gives her attraction to a white landscape gardener room to encounter race, class and family expectation. The discovery is a mainstream-shaped romance that allows its Black heroine's professional and social pressures to matter.
