Henri Sellier

Sellier used his roles in Suresnes and the Seine housing authority to promote garden-city estates with homes, schools, health facilities and open space. Construction at Suresnes began in 1921 and developed over many years. His approach treated the surrounding neighbourhood as part of the housing offer. It is a useful alternative to judging a programme only by unit counts, while retaining the distinction between an influential demonstration and meeting an entire region's needs.
